3.0.01 Sinópsis tiempos verbales presente y pasado

The presentations and exercises of the basic and intermediate levels have served to show the various variations and uses of the verbs in Spanish, focusing on the present tense of the indicative. This video introduces, within the Berlán method, the analysis of verbs in Spanish when they express actions or states in the past.

3.1.5 Pretérito e Imperfecto. conjugaciones

Proper handling of the verb tenses "pretérito simple" and "pastado imperfecto" in Spanish is essential for precise and clear communication. Both verb tenses allow you to express past actions, but each one has a specific use that affects the meaning of the sentences. Mastering the use of the simple past and the imperfect past is essential to communicate effectively in Spanish, especially when relating events or describing situations from the past. This video presents reasons and examples that illustrate the use of these verb tenses.

3.2.5 Pretérito e Imperfecto.Ejercicios

The purpose of the exercises offered in this video is to show some of the linguistic patterns that trigger the use of the imperfect versus the use of the simple past. Choosing the correct verb tense helps to avoid misunderstandings. For example, saying "I lived in Madrid" (imperfect) suggests a prolonged or habitual stay, while "I lived in Madrid" (past tense) indicates a defined period.

3.3.02 Verbos y sus variaciones

The previous videos have explored the definitions and uses of the present and past tenses, which are possibly the most essential of the Spanish language. Now, this video focuses on the main unconjugated forms of these verbs: the infinitive, the gerund and the past participle. Through the analysis of a narrative, the video illustrates how these verbal forms are used.

3.4.03 Modos del idioma castellano

The subjunctive is a verbal mode that is used to express desires, doubts, emotions, possibilities, or hypothetical situations. It does not refer to concrete facts, but to situations that are uncertain or not realized. In addition, the subjunctive has several verb tenses that allow you to express different nuances of time and aspect. This video offers visual explanations to help understand when and how to use each of these modes and verb tenses in Spanish.

3.5.6 Ejercicios, subjuntivo presente

This video continues to illustrate the uses of the subjunctive, with a particular focus on the present. Although the subjunctive mood is little used in English, it is essential in Spanish to express desires, doubts, emotions, and hypothetical situations. In English, the functions of the subjunctive are often expressed using the infinitive or alternative structures. The use of the subjunctive is limited and is often replaced with the use of the infinitive or modal structures. For example, instead of saying "I hope he comes", in English you could say "I hope he comes," without the need for a verbal mode change. However, this linguistic construction does not have a direct equivalent in Spanish, where the subjunctive is an integral and distinctive part of grammar.

3.6.6 Más ejercicios del subjuntivo presente

Often, the subjunctive is introduced into the conversation through certain expressions and conjunctions that indicate a degree of uncertainty or subjectivity. These expressions and conjunctions are key to identifying when it is appropriate to use the subjunctive. This video explores many of these expressions and conjunctions, providing practical examples and contexts in which the subjunctive is necessary. By becoming familiar with these structures, students can improve their understanding and use of the subjunctive in daily conversation.

3.7.6 Repaso de elementos lingüísticos

This video offers an analysis of some of the linguistic elements that usually confuse Spanish students. In particular, it focuses on the differences between the subjunctive mode and the indicative mode, two grammatical aspects fundamental for fluency in the language. Through examples and explanations, the video illustrates how and when to use each of these modes in everyday conversation.
